Thibault Schrepel<\/strong><\/a>, LL.M., research centers around the dynamics and regulation of digital markets, which he explores through the lens of complexity science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is an Associate Professor of Law at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam University (Amsterdam Law & Technology Institute<\/a>), and a Faculty Affiliate<\/a> at Stanford University (CodeX Center<\/a>), where he founded the \u201cComputational Antitrust<\/a>\u201d project that brings together over 65 antitrust agencies. Thibault is also the founder of the Network Law Review<\/a>, and the host of the \u201cScaling Theory<\/a>\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thibault holds research and teaching positions at the University Paris 1 Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne and Sciences Po Paris. He is an alumnus of the Berkman Center at Harvard University, a member of the scientific board of the French Superior Audiovisual Council, and a blockchain expert appointed to the World Economic Forum and the World Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In past years, Thibault received the \u201cAcademic Excellence\u201d Global Competition Review Award, which recognizes \u201can academic competition specialist who has made an outstanding contribution to competition policy.\u201d He has published<\/a> a first manuscript (Bruylant) on the subject of \u201cpredatory innovation in antitrust law\u201d and articles at Harvard University, Stanford, MIT, Oxford, NYU, Berkeley, and Georgetown, among others. His second book, \u201cBlockchain + Antitrust<\/a>\u201d, was published in September 2021 (Edward Elgar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, Thibault has focused most of his research on blockchain antitrust<\/a>, computational antitrust<\/a>, and complexity theory. He has written the world\u2019s most downloaded antitrust articles on SSRN in 2018 (\u201cThe Blockchain Antitrust Paradox<\/a>\u201d), 2019 (\u201cCollusion by Blockchain and Smart Contracts<\/a>\u201d), 2020 (\u201cBlockchain Code as Antitrust<\/a>\u201d), 2021 (\u201cComputational Antitrust: An Introduction and Research Agenda<\/a>\u201d), and 2022 (\u201cComplexity-Minded Antitrust<\/a>\u201d). In 2023 and 2024, three of his articles ranked among the top 10 most downloaded antitrust papers on SSRN globally, with one achieving the highest number of downloads in 2024 (\u201cMeasuring the Openness of AI Foundation Models: Competition and Policy Implications<\/a>\u201d). He has recently co-edited \u201cArtificial Intelligence and Competition Policy<\/a>\u201d (Concurrences, 2024).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
