Thomas Gerbaud is a senior data scientist. He has been working with data science tools for more than 15 years. He has a special interest in systems based on artificial intelligence, including high level statistics and state-of-art machine learning. As a physicist in plasma fusion working on large scale experiments (EURATOM EFDA/JET, CEA/ToreSupra) for almost 10 years (2005-2014), he had to address complex issues based on very large amount of data. Analysing raw data coming from measurement made by prototypes and converting it in information that physical models could tackle. This is how he learned data science, using heuristics, operational research algorithms and weird databases. His job is to design, implements and test machine learning algorithms, advanced statistics and expert programs.
His goal is to industrialise data science by developing automated tools for data processing, analysing and modelling. Thomas has a degree in engineering and PhD in plasma physics.
