Dr. Luca Ferretti is a Senior Researcher in Statistical Genetics and Pathogen Dynamics at the Big Data Institute of the University of Oxford. After a PhD in theoretical particle physics from SISSA, Dr Ferretti focused on statistical approaches to population genetics, genomics and sequencing, fitness landscapes and viral-host interactions. His current research involves an interplay of epidemiology, genetics, evolution and within-host dynamics of HIV and other viral pathogens such as FMDV, ASF and more recently SARS-CoV-2.
